example number 2

The country I have chosen to describe ethnic make-up and religions, is Costa Rica. I picked this place because it is quite diverse. There is 3,000,000 people with a 2.5% growth rate.  Even though the graphs show that there is very little ethnic diversity, I have done research and have friends that have visited the country, and they have said that there is many racial groups and very little conflict. The chart below shows that the majority of this country is whites, but from what I have learned that the publicly correct term for the "white" population in this country, there really considered Costa Rican people. The main ethnic groups are black, white and costa ricans, making very little ethnic conflicts.

In this country many people may not be diverse in ethnicity but there religion they are. There are 2 main religions, catholic and protestants, theirs also many people that does not have a religion. In the past there was religious conflict during the 20th century, do to the vote of the costa rican legislature, dominated presidential elections. Things had settled after Oscar Arias Sanchez became president after the civil war.

In 1987 the president of Costa Rica made a regional peace plan . this plan brought free and open elections in Nicaragua and the subsequent end of the civil war in this country. Costa Rica has no army and relies on diplomatic means, so they try to avoid conflict. They had some miss understandings with who owned the San Juan River, other then that they don't have many political situations. Costa Rica is also a democratic republic,
